ABOUT OUR CAMPS
BEACH BUDDIES      
Ages 3.5 to 5.5, must be toilet-trained
Wayland Town Beach | 25 Parkland Drive | Wayland, MA
Monday through Friday 9:00am – 1:00pm  

Every Beach Buddies day has exciting new adventures at the beach. We offer a variety of age-appropriate activities in line with our weekly themes and include circle time, stories, songs, art projects, active games, swimming, and nature walks. Swimming and Water play is always supervised by our counselors and certified lifeguards. All Beach Buddies participants are classified as “non-swimmers” or “at-risk swimmers” under Christian’s Law MGL c. 111, §127A½. They will therefore be provided with and are required to wear a US Coast Guard approved life vest while playing in the water. Parents can provide USCG PFDs.

Groups:
Camp has 25 camper max and maintains a 1:5 staff to camper ratio at all times, additional Lifeguard supervision during swim time. 
Turtles: Ages 3.5 to 4.5 (12 campers)
Frogs: Ages 4.5 to 5.5 (13 campers)

9:00 AM DROP OFF
Check-in begins at 9:00am sharp at the Beach Buddies Gate.
Drop-Off and Pick-up is conducted through the Beach Buddies Gate near the grassy play area at the Beach House. Please park your car and meet a staff person at the gate. It is helpful to begin our daily routine on time, so please have children arrive on time AND wearing a bathing suit. Staff cannot accept campers early.

1:00 PM PICK UP
Any and all persons (even parents) who pick up a camper must show a photo ID, and sign out each Beach Buddy with our staff. Afternoon Pick-Up will be SLOW until your counselors learn who you are! This is for the camper’s safety. Please send any changes to authorized adults to pick-up campers in writing to rec@wayland.ma.us.

RAIN DAYS
Drop-Off Changes will be posted on the website, our Facebook page, and/or sent by email notice before 8:30 am on days with inclement weather.
If rain or thunderstorms are forecasted, with as much notice as possible we may move the Beach Buddies Program indoors to:

Rain Location: Wayland Town Building
41 Cochituate Road. Please bring campers upstairs to the second floor preschool classrooms.

Here campers will utilize the classroom, library, and possibly the playground if weather permits. There is no need to pack a bathing suit or towels on a rainy day. In the event of any sudden weather changes that occur after drop-off time at the Town Beach, the children will be moved under cover until proper dismissal can occur.
